Hong Kong: Mong Kok Shopping and Michelin-starred Dim Dim Sum Dimsum

Mong Kok is popular to both locals and tourists for being one of the busiest shopping districts in Hong Kong. Last September, I had the chance to stroll around its crowded streets and familiarize myself with the different markets in the area. I can say that Mong Kok is a haven for thrift shoppers and foodies!

The most visited market in Mong Kok (lol i dunno if this is just a biased opinion 😂) is the Ladies Market. Its narrow street is jampacked with stores selling clothes, cosmetics and almost everything that’s under the line of beauty and fashion. Meanwhile, if shoes are your kryptonite in shopping, then brace yourself for Mong Kok’s Sneaker Street. It is a 200-yard stretch where you can find every sneaker or shoe design ever made. Other interesting markets in the area are Fa Yuen Street Market (for a mix of apparels, gadgets and food stalls), Gold Fish Market and Flower Market.

When in Mong Kok, do not forget to try the Michelin-starred restaurant, Dim Dim Sum Dimsum! 😋

Before visiting, we already heard a lot of good reviews about their food and we didn’t get disappointed! We tried a variety of dim sum including pork and shrimp dumplings, chicken feet and piggy custard buns. The place, however, is just small and simple. But their food really deserves that michelin star! Staff is also very friendly. The food is so good that tourists and locals line up outside their restaurant to grab a bite of their specialties.

I am not sure if Dim Dim Sum is the best dimsum restaurant in Hong Kong, but it sure is a must-try! 👍
